MAGIC is Riaan's latest subject of interest....especially now that Tree Foo Tom plays on the tele three times a day.
The funny part is, Riaan uses the magic, less for 'rescuing' and more for venting his frustration.....
Well wont he be frustrated? Naturally! with parents like us, who hammer the 'eat properly'; 'don't yell'; ' don't watch tv from so close'...blah blah.
So one morning at the breakfast table, the usual scenario where Ashish and I finished, and Riaan had barely started on his cereal.
Me : ' Riaan, please eat quickly'
Riaan : (ignoring me and talking to himself) '....now get into your magic pose, put your arms together, way the magic words.....abracadabra ...........(now pointing his toast at me like it was his wand).....TURN MUMMA INTO A FROG!
Me : (cracking up from the inside and trying hard to not twitch my mouth)....But if you turn me into a frog, how will i look after you. Mumma has to look after her baby..
Riaan : Don't worry mumma.....(and am thinking here's another I AM A BIG BOY line coming up)........I will bring myself ANOTHER Mumma!
Me : Really! (shocked naturally).....where from??
Riaan : The MUMMY SHOP of course! where else.
Me : Do you know where it is?
Riaan: (to Ashish) Pappi....where is the Mummy shop?
Ashish : it doesnt exist anymore. it closed down...they only sell monsters there now.
Riaan : Oh.....Magic turn my mumma frog back to Mumma!
